    Ultrasonic Cleaning Tanks.

I've just bought an ultrasonic bath for carb cleaning etc. Used two different types of cleaning solution diluted with water (admitted not distilled) but when I left the Ali parts in for 15 minutes, they came out dark grey as though the aluminium was being dissolved or etched? I'm trying to find a better solution to use to get the finish bright. I've been told to try a citric acid solution but also need to make sure all the small ports are cleaned thoroughly. Any tips from you guys for good results? Fluid mix? Temperature and time?

    Honda CB750 K2

I wish it was, they were 1968/69 models and worth a few bob, this one is a 1972 K2 model when the American export production took off. These models decimated the British bike industry which never invested for re-tooling for newer models.

He's probably just after a clean old bike that runs well, OK the CX is a good little bike but it will never set your pants on fire....or become the holy grail, it's not like finding an old HRD or Vincent now is it?. I have three ready for ripping up so I must be a sadistic mother.....

Hi guys, that member from Liverpool was ME! I had the silver cafe racer CX500 with the LED lights. Yes, you are correct, I did make a lot of suggestions regarding the stand at Stafford, I didn't want to start shouting though as I had not long joined the club. When I got home I went about purchasing a foldable Ali display stand which could be used for photo's and history info about the bikes etc. John knows that I still have this and I wish to give it to the club, but it needs someone to arrange what will go on it. Last year I was unable to attend as my wife had broken her ankle the week before. This year I will be in the process of moving homes, but I'm hoping to get up to attend as spectator, so I could come and help set up the lighting for you guys if it helps? I have had a number of LED floods in my garage set aside for this purpose and I am a qualified electrician. Let me know what the plan is! If there is one?
  15. John, sorry to hear about your bike being nicked....Apparently the gang that took yours and the other Triumphs were told by the gang leader to go out and find a few twins to join their gang (human ones!) but there was a bit of confusion which doesn't take much with these scumbags!! Hence they found a few twin cylinder bikes.
