  1. Well done Marty. I drove down through Savernake on Wednesday too; but in the car and then West to visit Stourhead. It was a beautiful day for a bike-ride in the Wiltshire countryside, shame my missus won't entertain the idea 😢 Hopefully, they'll be more sunny days to have the chance to ride again .... and take more pics.

    Rob Davis page

I'm also glad to see Rob's web-site back on line - he provides a mine of useful information & advice. Its just sad that he gave up riding maggots, maybe one day he'll be back ...

    Easy Rider!!

    A classic 1960's film & bikes, could be why they're chain-driven versions ... 😉

    DGR Ottawa Canada 2017

Well done Keith - a great cause combined with a ride out accompanied by some interesting looking characters & machines. Nice to see the ladies in support too. (A few years ago, with male-only work-colleagues, we grew some straggly whiskers for Movember and enjoyed the sense of camaraderie whilst raising funds for the charity).

    GL500

I have one. Its a naked version, no fairing, panniers etc. But I like the ride position. Val.

    geo-caching

Tel - that sounded like a bit-of-an-adventure in Sweden, brilliant. As Meggark indicated, when they are located in interesting places where you wouldn't normally go, they work best. But some geo-cachers seem to just want to bag as many as possible. When the cache takes a while to find, 'cos its been well-hidden, there's a real sense of achievement too. My grandson liked the ice-cream-tub type ones where he swapped goodies. The nano-caches are magnetic and the size of a small bullet. I have the added challenge of no GPS device and just work on the basis of the clues left on the web-site. (My mobile is pay-as-you-go, several years old, and does what a phone should do - make &, occasionally, receive calls. But that's another topic). Talking of interesting places, whilst a family member went to the NEC, I had a look round the British M/C Museum this week. Its literally packed with 100s of examples of the development of m/c engineering. I spent several happy hours there. However, the oil-slicks under many of them reminded me why I appreciate Honda's standard of engineering and technology.... Val.

    geo-caching

Hi, Over the school hols, we've found a good way to occupy my grandson and me - geo-caching. After walking to several in our location, we also went to Burford and found more. One thing about it that appeals is that its free! Its also an activity that takes you to new places and seems to combine nicely with riding a CX/GL (both seem to require a touch, or a lot, of eccentricity). Its something I intend to do again. There's thousands of caches in this country, as well as round the world for those more adventurous. If interested, there's info at https://www.geocaching.com/account/welcome" target="_blank. Cheers, Val.

    Southampton cafe racer

A relative saw this cafe-racer in Southampton at the end of July and just emailed me the pics. Anyone's in the club? Val.

    Main Fuse

Thanks for the tips, but I'd already gone onto fleabay and ordered a set of 5 x 30A blade fuses for £1.59, post paid. It seemed like a great deal as, on past performance, they should provide 150 years of service. Slight hitch - the blades were too long and so I had to cut them down and drill a new hole in one end! But at £1.59, I can't really complain. Val.
