ericry
Just noticed I never got to post a follow up to this. Well the weekend went very well...the weather gods co-operated too.... Many of the Irish lads took the opportunity to ride to a couple of far flung "Photo Rally" points (http://irishphotorally.ie/) on the way and we even rode past one on the ride out on the Saturday ride out. We had 22 people attending the rally with 4 of those from the UK. Hotel was very nice, nice bar areas and lovely food served to us. We even manage to find a late night chip shop nearby as some people seemed to be quite hungry by the end of the night ! If you have never been to Donegal then you are really missing out on some great roads and some lovely scenery. We were lucky that that weather was great and we had some lovely views. Great ride out on Saturday, we saw a good bit of Donegal all the way over to Killibegs town and back with a chance to clear some carbon deposits on the way back. Its looking like 2025 Rally may be heading somewhere to the south or south west of Ireland....more details will follow...it'll be the usual format of a hotel venue with breakfasts and even meals as our base then ride out on the Saturday to see a few sights, get some food and ice cream etc. Its not the cheapest option but certainly the most practical and comfortable for old farts like us....and if the weather gods dont co-operate its easier to hang up and dry gear in your rooms, have warm showers etc etc. Would love if some more UK members were able to join us, so start putting some pennies in the piggy banks ! More details to follow..... Eric,
BrendanO
As one of the UK attendees, I can very much confirm the quality of the setup, accomm, rideout, and company! Even managed to score discount ferry tickets for 3 of us. A bonus was hitting the Antrim coast on the way home in sunny weather, and visiting schoolfriends in Stranraer.
