CX-GL Honda MCC

I Used To Have One Of Those

Recommended Posts

Picked up a stablemate for the CX in London yesterday, spent the day riding back to Glasgow. Wasn't much fun in the rain for the first 150 odd miles but worth the trip.

Looks a bit like an overweight pidgeon but it's mega comfy, handles great and has a decent amount of poke. Reckon I'm going to enjoy it - my first four cylinder (v4).

Nice, good luck with it.

What kind of MPG did you get on the run up ?

Eric.

Didn't really pay attention, but probably not great as I really pegged it up the road. They're not really known for their economy.

Is that the VFR1200 ?

No,VFR800X crossrunner.

I took it up to Skye for an overnighter yesterday, came back today. Superb machine. Comfy, quick, nimble and stable. I feel I've bonded with it now after that trip, it was perfect for it.

Not the best considering it's an 800. About 45mpg, but that's a fair bit of ragging about town, two up and generally making progress on open roads.

I took it up to Skye Monday into Tuesday. Performed brilliantly, really well suited to my riding.

I suspect it may have been. There were a few but not the clouds you sometimes get.

I love my trangia, it's a cracking bit of kit. Works so well. Takes up a bit more space than my msr pocket rocket and the pan or lives in but the trangia is more flexible.

I just bought a new tent for our return next weekend - MSR Elixir 2. Looking forward to giving it a go.

Took the CX down to the Ayr classic show yesterday where there was an absolutely mint Eurosport. Really lovely restoration. Also met a bloke on a GL there.

Had the crossrunner out to the Mull of Galloway today with Cat on the back too. We were with a friend from work and his girlfriend, on an identical crossrunner. Great run but my arse is getting a bit sore from all this time I'm spending on the bikes!
