Guest
About 4 xmases ago Brat 2 wanted anew bike he saved up and been given money. The Chineese wonder cost about £100 mountain bike style. complete with arse pain saddle, supectpension and bell. All in techno black. Our local Bangor branch were out of stock despite computer inventry showing 6 free. Wouldnt move stock from Llandudno, so there we had to go another 40mile trip. Bike collected and immediatly showed gear change issues despite no drops etc, Bangor took a few days to sort still not ok, kept over Xmas. Brat not happy. Several more events obviously connected, freebies came out but didnt answer the problem. Eventually in mid January blew up Bangor were not able to even give a date for further attention so did a stand outside the Llandudno store door 15 minutes of customer advice had the offer of police, rectification or further goods free. Said go play with your crap. Within a few minutes full refund for the bike and donated the lot to Brat because of the total inability to rectify. The rear sprocket was the main culprit as the block didnt match up, and required some input. Dont stand for crap service if you buy the cheapest or the deaest. ericry
Agree Dave. All goods must be fit for purpose - a bike you cant ride definitely isnt fit for purpose. Standing outside with a big sign is one way to get things moving - inviting the local paper or radio station down to interview you is also effective. I'd never buy a bike in halfords - same way I wouldnt buy a new car in a bicycle parts shop !! Eric.
