grollie
Winter is here & our native birds are finding food scarce. Please go to the Pet Shop & buy a bag of nuts for our feathered friends. There is no finer sight on a winter's morning than a pair of tits around your nut sack. Just remember, however, it's a bit early in the year to expect a swallow. dw_french
Quite right Gary. Ken, I see nothing wrong with that, we have a sac with nuts in that the tits love. Robins like them too.
BikerBob
Hi, Like it (serious note)I completely agree Dave, look after the birds this winter, mind you the powers that be say there are more Berries this year than for many years.
PeteG_CX500
Your absolutely right Bob, there is more food around for the wild birds at the moment. I haven't had any tits on my fat balls for ages.
FRAN C
Ya same here not a sign of any tits willing to lodge on my nut sack, & surely no sign of a swallow.

GRAHAM
Ok....Own up. Who has now got their bird books out looking for birds with rude sounding names?
BikerBob
Hi, The very obvious one (in this weather) is the Blue Tit.
PeteG_CX500
The species name of the thrush is Turdus. That's mildly humerous in a schoolboy sort of way.

GRAHAM
The first time we saw one was a few years ago when we found one in the kitchen that the cat had brought in. I didn't know what it was at first, it is a weird looking thing. Like a mixture of features from other birds. Shortly after that the cat came home with another one. Apparently they only visit the South West in the winter, and are usually nocturnal.
