  1. What's new in this club
  2. You came to the right place tho - there are some pretty knowledgeable folk here!
  3. Ooops. The bike really was a dog underneath it all. Hey ho, onwards and upwards.
  4. Thanks wj. I've started stripping the bike down and some parts of the loom leave a bit to be desired to say the least.
  5. Alex - if you need any OE Honda wires or connectors to tidy up the wiring loom give me a shout as I have most of an OE Eurosport loom spare. I'll post some pics in another part of the forum soon and if there is anything useful then it's offered to whomever asks for it.
  6. Thanks Brendan. Looks can be deceptive. lol. I'm based near Crewe in Haslington. Maybe i should have made my comment clearer. Though this is my 3rd CX it's the only one i've got at the moment. I had another C and an A when i was a courier down in the smoke.
  7. Looks fairly decent Alex! welcome, where u based, and what are your other CXs?
  8. Thanks wj. I don't know yet, i'm just in the process of checking it over and finding the faults. There's a bit of a mess in the headlight bucket.
  9. Welcome along Alex. What you going to do with the bike?
  10. Frame back from the blasters next step powder coaters
  11. Hi Rob, yes I used as many of those roads as poss. Great weather and not too busy, I believe it will be a bit crazy this week. Are you about in the week or just weekends? I Iive 2 mins from j&s so your more than welcome to come here if you wish. Tea is far cheaper. lol
  12. Hi Alan, Did you take the B3306 from St Ives to Lands End, a fantastic road for bikes with amazing views? I Really like those smaller 4 cyl Hondas compact and just look right the 400/4 was always one of my favourites. If you fancy a cuppa at J&S anytime let me know. Rob.
  13. hi Rob, I went last Fri and came back Thu. Cut it short as I had to get back. I also have a 1975 Honda CB550 f. U S import which won some awards with the vjmcc by the previous owner. Had them both 4 yrs. Alan
  14. Sounds like a fantastic trip, how many days was that over? do you have any other bikes or is it just the CX500?
  15. Hi Rob, sounds ok to me. Just come back from a trip down the Cornish coast to lands end then followed it round Into devon a n d dorset then back through the welsh borders. Great weather and trip. CX was faultless except I think it now needs a bit of a tune up, running a bit rough.
  16. Hi and welcome to the club, now the better weather is here will have to see if we can get the North West local group together for a drink and chat one evening. Please do post any photos of the bike others will be interested in your project. Regards Rob.
  17. Hi all i live i Chester and have just bought a gl650 needs work so will be working on it over the coming months
  18. Hi Rob, sounds good to me. I must add, I dont do rain. lol
  19. Hi Alan, A WhatsApp group is certainly an easy and instant way of making contact with anyone who is interested in a day out, I am a member of the VMCC in the Cheshire Cats section and we use WhatsApp to keep in contact and arrange days out. A few of my mates joined me on Tuesday and we had a good day out, great food with plenty to watch at Sleap Airfield, a tad disappointed at Ellesmere when we arrived to find the ice cream kiosk closed so we had to settle for a coffee and cake at the Lakeside cafe. Cheers Rob.
  20. Hi Rob, happy to go on a whatsapp group. I don't go on the club website that often. Only just seen your message re the run out tues. A bit late now. My no is 07850 913806. cheers Alan.
  21. Morning Boys, Anyone fancy a run tomorrow? I'm thinking meeting at J&S then heading out to Sleap Airfield and then on to Ellesmere Lake. Regards Rob.
  22. Hi Guys, I'm in Delamere and would be ok to meet up go for a run. 2mins from j&s. Pref mid week personally.
  23. Hi guys I'm located in Handforth Cheshire. Only just purchased my cx500c. Love it.
  24. Hey no worries Mike, it was just an idea of communication made with one txt reached all those in the group. Just to add to this Mike, the pub meet was one good reason to have a whatsapp group, last minute decision finds all those in the group whereas a message on the website might not, plus you can see by the replies who is going to attend. The fact it's just a txt and not a website makes it so much more practical.
  25. Not for me Rob personally. I don't do whats app facebook twitter etc much happier to use this site and pub meets. When I get home I have no interest in picking up or using my phone online all day in work sorry
