New Horse in my stable

Postby Ol Turbs » Fri Aug 10, 2018 5:54 pm

Sadly had to say goodbye to my GL1500 Goldwing today as it's to heavy to handle with my ongoing health issues (f%^*+D back and three big hernias). And in true British weather style it pissed it down on the way to the dealership and all the way home on the new iron horse. I traded her in for an old 55reg Honda XL 1000 Varadero which is in mint condition and only one owner and a mere 3:5k on the clock. It's so light and pokey and has the full touring matching top box and side panniers. I'm hoping to be able to carry on doing the Devon rally on this and hopefully the mid counties National rallies.

Three hernias? Damn, I only have two!

Mind you, my bike is lighter.

Operation date end Sept...but I don't think I'll be getting a Wing after!!

Good luck Lance!

You kept that quiet Lance. Great bike and one that consistently gets rave reviews. Has it also got a reverse gear?

Good luck with the new bike Lance !

One of the lads in the irish club has one, not a bad looking bike. He's just dropped over £700 into his for new wheel bearing, head bearings, tyres and something else (cant remember).

They are a bit thirstier than the CX too but depends on how easy you are with the right hand !

Enjoy

Eric.

Nice machines the Varadero. I looked closely at one before I got my Crossrunner which is a little more height appropriate for my short legs.
