Pacific highway

Here you can add stories and musings of why these bikes are just great, and how satisfying it is to own one, or more than one.

Pacific highway

Had enough of looking at it so I thought I'd register my CX as a chrissie present to self. Pulled on boots at 6:30 am and took 'em off about 9 pm...... suffice to say she's running well - more than well in fact, the 15 years in that blokes shed in Adelaide seems to have made her hungry so it was my duty to get her back in her natural habitat; eating up the miles!
First thing, I rode to my sons in Sydney - just 20 klms to make sure all was well... after coffee and a bit of Grandad time I ventured off out of town and reacquainted myself with the 'old' Pacific highway (since the building of freeways, there's a little used, spectacular road that winds it's way through the ranges between Sydney and Gosford)... what a ride! Dropped in at 'The Pie in the sky' .... a cafe on top of a hill where - just like Bury Hill or countless other haunts - thousands of bikers gather and roam the carpark talking bikes..... got a few "I used to haves....."
Fantastic day in perfect conditions - dry, mid twenties, little bits of cloud..... bike is unreal..... hope the piccies come out.......

Nice one Loz, 20deg
First ice on the roads this morning & where i live it's a few deg. warmer than outside Plymouth.
Went for a run (not on the bike)this morning, or i should say SLIDE,had to run on the road as the pavements were covered in black ice, no frost though.
Weather gave a sunny day, but it's just rained AGAIN.

ENJOY the CX Loz, that is what it was built for

Sorry to hear it's all wintry there guys - don't miss it atall
I hate to rub it in, but it was much the same today - "Ho Hum; another sunny day - might as well go for a ride" - Hey Geoff, I remember it starting to snow as you, Trev and I wheeled a bike in a van at your place and I got down the M1 in a blizzard about this time of year - also remember riding to and from work in sussex/hampshire in the dark, on the ice (got through a few pairs of undies that year!) ...I'll take me camera with me from now on, and give you all a bit of sunshine riding to help yaz through the grey bit - I'm being facetious (how d'ya spell that?)..... my best biking memories are all U.K. based..... and "No"; I don't ride in a T shirt - full kit; it might be a bit uncomfortable, but not as uncomfortable as a skin graft.
Hunker down for the big freeze guys - Gad it's hot - and have yerselves a great Christmas.
