Euro front brake disc

Postby Sture4106 » Wed Apr 27, 2011 2:42 pm

Hi,

Not for me, but a fellow Swedish CX rider.

His bike was "off the road" for some years before he bought it. Somehow it seems that some chemical stuff had been spilled over one of the brake discs and eaten upon it. Now the "MOT" station failed it on that single fault.

He needs a "new" brake disc. Would settle for a used one in reasonable-to-fine condition.

He´s prepared to pay decent money, provided it´s sound and healthy.

He asked me for help and I´ve checked eBay UK and Germany. No luck, so far.

Regards

Sture

Sture, I just gave a rolling chassis to Mario which had front disc's on it ( nor sure of condition ) Try contacting him ( Bones ) as he only wanted the chassis itself.

Delboy,

I´m fine - right now at M´lady´s place, 1150 km north of where I´m living. The last snowdrifts are melting here, right now - biking season not too far away!!

Marty - thanks for telling - I´ve dropped him an e-mail.

Trev! Thanks! Maybe easier to find one for a CB 900 than a EURO at Swedish salvage yards??

I´ll keep trying - sooner or later one will turn up on eBay Germany, I know that!

Thanks all!

Sture

Thanks for your comments and worries, so far!

Trev! Good tip about the CB 900 discs!

A local bike breaker verified what you told , but had som ideas there was a difference between lhs and rhs discs. Can´t find that from Partsfinder or any other parts "fiche" service I´ve found.

I believe the owner of the CX 500 E is trying this road first. If he doesn´t find anything locally, I´m sure he would be interested in one from here.

Thanks and cheers
