Long shot - Ignitech

Postby HantsChris500 » Tue Sep 28, 2010 3:19 pm

Just had a thought.

Has anyone got a spare low milage ignitech I could buy off them for say £110?

Would be much easier and quicker apart from the lack of warranty support if a fault occurred.

Just testing the water!

Cheers. Chris.

Hi Chris

If anyone has an ignitech, they're likely to want to hang onto it. Have you considered hiring the club unit. Firstly, it will confirm whether a new unit will fix the problem, and secondly, you can hang onto it for a month before you need to return it so you could be up and running while you wait for the one from abroad. Send Peter a PM for details.

Regards

Mario

Thanks Mario.

I was originally going to hire the club unit, but I realised I couldn't pay the deposit as I don't have access to a cheque book. Maybe it's worth asking Peter if there's another way of paying a deposit. I just can't really afford to pay it in cash as I then wouldn't be able to pay for my own ignitech until after Peter refunded my money.

Maybe I should do it anyway (pay peter cash - if that's workable!) and then just have the bike off the road a while between sending back the club unit and paying for and recieving my own from Ignitech. At least then I could be 100% confident and happy that the Ignitech would get my bike running :D

Chris is there anyone near you that has an ignitech unit that would come to you & try it on the bike for ya, ?
I done this for our Mike & let him have mine for a while so he could make sure the bike was ok with one on.
Just remembering he never even said thanks........... :x

I know Derek has one he got back from Didman. He was told its a dud one... but maybe someone with electrical know how might be able to repair it...

Thats if there is a problem, might just need remapping..

Hmmm, my brain's ticking!

Does it belong to Derek or to the club? I might send a PM in a bit. If he hasn't already got plans for it, and unless someone with experience of the software already (eg Reggie) would be prepared to sort it, maybe I could have have a look at it (hooked up to the Software on the PC) and if I got it working, either purchase it, or if I was already sorted with one of my own by then, it could go back to Derek (or whoever owns it!) to use, or sell to another member (in which case I wouldn't want anything for looking at it). Of course it may turn out to be more than a software set-up problem! I wouldn't want to start pulling it apart unless it was otherwise destined for the bin!

I'd have to do it in a week or so when I'm not so busy though!

Just an idea :)

The unit that I have got belongs to the club, and I am waiting to hear from Peter for his address as I was told, then Peter can look at it and then decide what to do with it,so if you read this Peter please email me your address so that I can be rid of it. Derek
